CHRISTIAN ZIONISM, A DANGEROUS TEACHING

When you observe what’s going on in the world today under the banner of Jesus and Christianity, if you don’t see justice and peace then it’s not representative of Jesus and it’s not representative of Christianity. I write this with Christian Zionism in mind. Christian Zionism is not biblical.

All the promises of God are fulfilled in Jesus the Messiah, Jesus the Prince of Peace. Paul the apostle is an example of how God has not rejected the Jewish people. He was Jewish, he believed the words of the prophets, and he believed in Jesus the Messiah. All that walk in his footsteps are the true Israel of God. That’s the context in which God has not rejected the Jewish people. The context is the remnant, and there exists a remnant to this very day. It is futile to give the Jewish people, or anyone else, hope of salvation in anything or anyone other than Jesus Christ the Messiah. We do not walk in love when we offer false hope.

Zechariah 9:9-10 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.

The promise in Genesis 12:3 was fulfilled in the coming of Jesus the Messiah Luke 1:73. It’s in Jesus, not Israel, that all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Luke 1:73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

The promise was to all peoples and it encompassed the whole earth not the land of secular Israel as proclaimed by the modern day false prophets.

Psalms 72:8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

Luke 2:10-11 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

THE STRONG DELUSION OF CHRISTIAN ZIONISM

CHURCH, THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE TO BE

A fellow believer made that statement in jest several years ago. Now I think it may have been a prophetic word. Many of our churches have become very political and very ecumenical. I say “our churches” because there are many born again believers who attend these churches, and I used to be one of them. I have observed the politicizing of the church and the ecumenism first hand. In addition, the “media church” seems to have taken over the job of presenting “Christianity” to the world. The problem is that many times they are not presenting genuine Christianity. Changing laws will never change anyone’s heart, and certainly killing in the name of Jesus will never endear anyone from another faith to Christianity.

Galatians 3:1  O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

2 Corinthians 6:17-18  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

I was a Roman Catholic for almost forty years. I wrote the following as a Bible tract in the 1990’s, after I was born again. It was written for the purpose of encouraging Christians to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with Roman Catholics within their sphere of influence, and to pray for their salvation.

Behind Closed Doors

We are living in a day of ecumenism when the professing church is promoting an unbiblical unity, a unity which can only be achieved by compromising the truth of God’s Word. Many high profile evangelical leaders and pastors promote Roman Catholicism as just another Christian denomination. Nothing could be further from the truth. Roman Catholicism preaches another gospel, a gospel of works, that is not found in the Bible. It preaches a gospel that cannot save, a false gospel that according to the Bible is leading multitudes to an eternal hell. Often such a statement will be perceived as unloving, but in fact just the opposite is true. I have often wanted to take ecumenical leaders and pastors behind closed doors into the homes and nursing homes of the many precious Roman Catholic people that I know, so that they could see for themselves the true condition of these lost souls.

I know of many people, a good number of them who are elderly and in the final years of their lives, that are still trusting in Mary, the sacraments, miraculous medals, scapulars, and their own merits for salvation. They also believe in a place called purgatory that is nowhere to be found in the bible. I also know of those who are beginning this soul damning cycle afresh, indoctrinating their little ones by having them baptized as infants. They are deceived into believing that baptism is the means of the new birth (regeneration), not knowing that the Bible teaches otherwise.

This unbiblical unity is being promoted by many Christian organizations and individuals who align themselves with the Roman Catholic Church in evangelistic work and political causes. Many Christians are succumbing to the intense pressure within the professing church of our day to consider Roman Catholics as brethren in Christ. As this becomes more prevalent, fewer Roman Catholics will be evangelized.

The Jesus of the Roman Catholic Church is another Jesus, not the Jesus proclaimed in God’s Word. It is only when you look past the surface and delve deeper into Roman Catholic teaching that you will be able to discern the truth. I encourage you to do this.

The Roman Catholic false gospel of works is rooted in paganism and very real occult practices. Mary is the primary mediator for the Roman Catholic. The truth is that if someone is praying to Mary it is a clear indication that they are not born again, and that they are in desperate need of salvation. Praying to Mary (praying the rosary) is an occult practice. It is idolatry and rebellion against God’s Word. It is witchcraft and it will damn the souls of those who do not repent. (1 Timothy 2:5, Deuteronomy 18:10-12, 1 Samuel 15:23)

I would be negligent if I ended this tract without speaking of “Mother Teresa”. I have heard many pastors and evangelists praise Mother Teresa and speak of her as if she were a true believer.

The following is a quote by Billy Graham:

“When Mother Teresa died the only thing she owned was her rosary beads and the simple clothing that she wore. But one writer said of her she took a vow of poverty and became fabulously wealthy in the ways that really matter. She’s wealthy in the next world.” (Billy Graham San Francisco Bay Area Crusade, Excerpt from December 1997 televised broadcast, Speaker: Billy Graham, Topic: The Value of a Soul)

This propagates the false belief that Rome preaches the true gospel and that Roman Catholics are saved.

The following is a quote by Mother Teresa:

“If coming face to face with God we accept Him in our lives, then we … become a better Hindu, a better Muslim, a better Catholic, a better whatever we are … What God is in your mind you must accept.” (Desmond Doig, Mother Teresa: Her People and Her Work, Harper & Row, 1976, p. 156)

There is no question in a true Christian’s heart that, according to God’s Word (John 14:6, Acts 4:12), Hindus and Muslims need to put their faith in Jesus Christ alone in order to be saved. There is also no doubt that they must forsake their former affiliations and various forms of idolatry. Without exception the same is absolutely true for a Roman Catholic. If a Roman Catholic becomes born again and receives the Holy Spirit, they would be disobeying God’s Word by staying in and supporting an organization that preaches a false gospel.

My prayer is that you would join me in clearly sounding the trumpet by speaking the truth in love to those who desperately need to hear it.

For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? (1 Corinthians 14:8)

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (2 Corinthians 11:3,4)

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8,9)

In closing I want to say that whatever your calling is in the Body of Christ I pray that you would take what is written in this tract to heart, and speak out at a time when it is not popular to do so. Those who have done so have reaped a harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God. I encourage you to do this especially if you are a pastor, evangelist, or in any position of leadership and have the God given opportunity to reach many. Speak not only to the Catholic people who are lost and need to hear the true gospel, but speak also on their behalf, speak for them who cannot speak for themselves. Tell your congregation that Roman Catholics need to be evangelized, and then teach them how to evangelize the Roman Catholics. Silence at a time such as this permits evil to flourish and precious souls to be lost forever. May the Lord bless and encourage you as you labor in His vineyard and “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 1:3)

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. (Proverbs 31:8,9)

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. (Ezekiel 3:17-18)

THE SIN OF SILENCE

New Testament Christianity

1. Contends for the faith

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 1:3) “Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.” (Titus 1:9)

2. Exposes and separates from false teachers

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.” (Romans 16:17 ) “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” (Ephesians 5:11)

Things have changed, consider the following…

1. Billy Graham Crusades

“After inquirers are dealt with by ‘counselors’ and cards on each are filled out, a ‘Co-Labor Corps’ sits at long tables until midnight each night counting and sorting the cards and licking envelopes that will go out in the morning mail to ministers of about 1,000 churches. The ‘Corps’ sifts through maps and phone books, finding the church nearest the address on the cards, regardless of whether or not they are … Protestant, Catholic or Jewish … New York Times, June 19, 1969.” As a new believer I worked in one of these crusades and have experienced this first hand.

2. Preachers

Preachers have openly endorsed Pope John Paul II as a man of God, a great evangelist, and a hero of the faith. Yet Pope John Paul II preached a gospel of “works” and consecrated his life to “Mary.” His motto was “Mary I am all yours.” These same preachers are praised as great men of God from a multitude of pulpits and are never publicly exposed (which is Biblical) for aiding Rome in sending souls to hell. The new Pope has received the same enthusiastic acclaim.

3. Evangelicals & Catholics Together (ECT)

On March 29, 1994 Roman Catholic leaders and well known Evangelical leaders signed a document entitled “Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Christian Mission in the 3rd Millennium” (ECT), agreeing that practicing Catholics are Christians and should not be evangelized. The saddest part is that often, when all this is brought to the attention of believers in leadership positions, there is for the most part a response of silence!

The Necessity Of Educating Christians

Educating Christians regarding false religious systems is the most loving thing that can be done for the lost people involved in those systems. For the sake of ministering to the lost, ministers have taught about the false teachings of Mormonism, Islam, and the Jehovah Witnesses, just to name a few. Roman Catholicism needs to be exposed in the same way. Compare Roman Catholic teachings and practices with the Bible and nothing else needs to be said. The Roman Catholic people are entitled to a Gospel witness as much as anyone else. Christians have died for the sake of truth and for the love of lost souls. Many were martyred standing against Rome’s lies.

Remember

Remembering is a good thing, a safeguard, preventing past atrocities from being repeated. Unfortunately many believers know very little church history regarding the Roman Catholic system. (Read Foxe’s Book of Martyrs). In today’s church, important historical facts are viewed as negative, and they are being removed from Christian literature.

We Can Make A Difference

If our leaders and peers are silent regarding certain issues we tend to be silent also. It’s easier to just blend in with the crowd. If we open our mouths we may be looked upon with suspicion. Isn’t it strange that truth is silenced and serious error tolerated, in church? Isn’t this being indifferent concerning heaven and hell issues? Can this be pleasing to the Lord? If we speak out we can make a difference. If Christians don’t speak up on behalf of the Roman Catholic people, who cannot speak for themselves, who will?

Will we speak the truth, for the sake of souls, in a time when it is not popular in many Christian churches to do so? Will we go “against the grain” in order to take a stand for truth? Will we back up what we say by practicing biblical separation? The bible tells us not only to preach the truth, but also to expose and separate from the false.

Beware of following the crowd. Beware of the sin of silence. It allows evil to flourish. Nothing less than the eternal destiny of souls is at stake.

Interesting Quotes

“If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, then I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Him. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved; and to be steady on all the battlefront besides is merely flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point.” (Martin Luther)

“Evangelists today are wide-eyed to the might of Communism, but tight-lipped at the menace of Romanism. America would shake from coast to coast in twenty-four hours if some preacher, anointed with the Holy Ghost, gave the Roman Catholic Church a broadside!” “These priests who dope men’s souls, these idolatrous “masses,” these Calvary eclipsing prayers to Mary, these miserable millions cheated in life and in death by the greatest forgery Lucifer ever made – all these do not seem to stir us to tearful intercessions and godly jealousy, as identical circumstances stirred Elijah, with a volcano for a heart, and a thunderstorm for a voice, came to the Kingdom for such a time as this.” Leonard Ravenhill (Why Revival Tarries)

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” The Apostle Paul (Galatians 1:1)

THE ELEVENTH HOUR

When I arrived at the nursing home I met one of the residents in the hallway. His name is George and he’s in his 90’s. Though aged and infirm he greeted me with a cheerful countenance and a wonderful smile.

Later, as I sat outside enjoying the lovely weather, I spoke with another resident, Ella. She also is elderly and ill. Her face was bright and she also greeted me with a lovely smile. I asked her how it was with her living in the nursing home. She told me that because she knows the Lord she has accepted her situation and prays about everything. She also said that if she had been without the Lord, she would not have wanted to live anymore.

These are just two elderly saints that I spoke with yesterday, but there are many others that I have come across over the years. They are a testimony to God’s faithfulness. What a blessing it is for me to be around these elderly people who brightly shine with the love of Christ, even through the very difficult days of sickness and old age. My prayer is that many more of the elderly would come to the Lord who continues to call them, even at the eleventh hour of their lives.

Psalm 92:14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; {flourishing: Heb. green}

Proverbs 16:31 The hoary (gray) head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.

Matthew 20:6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
