IF WE LOVE THE BRETHREN …

by Ted Hellmann

How far have we drifted from that of a New Testament church? This church had absolute Unity of the Body and the exercise of all the gifts of the Spirit. A ministry directed by the Lord, with signs following: healing, deliverance and miracles.

If we love the brethren, we would nurture them in the full oracles of God and not local church doctrine or from headquarters. By the Holy Spirit and not the finite mind of man. How proud we are in our own doctrines, taking from the people what God has offered them. A healing for the whole body, and what audacity have we to tell God that these things are not for us today. Have we bowed down to man? Spiritual research is needed.

The church is not a man made denomination, it’s not a building, it’s not stained glass or carpet. The church is the true body of believers in Christ.

The building may burn down, the denomination may fold … but Jesus Christ is forever.

Ted Hellmann wrote this approximately twenty years ago when he was a Prison Chaplain. He recently found a copy of it while doing some house cleaning and mailed it to us. He is in his 90’s now and, with his wife Grace, still evangelizes. They leave tracts almost everywhere they go, and recently mailed 1000 tracts to be distributed elsewhere. Amazing.

(Ted Hellmann went to be with the Lord in 2011.)

    So true . . .

I like the “small bright lights” analogy. When that is truly understood a lot of other doctrines will be correctly understood.

    Amen.

It may sound strange, but it took me many years to truly understand this concept about the Church. The Lord used the internet to finally reveal the 100% truth of this:

I mean i knew it, from the Word of God, the scriptures…but i didn’t really ‘get it’ inside my spirit until shortly after being given a computer (from my daughter). It sit on my desk for weeks, until i got up the courage to use it. Looking back, i think the thing scared me..not being technologically ‘inclined’ lol

After i prayed and got over my fear, and started using it, the first thing i found was an on-line bible study group with born again believers from all over the world. I was thrilled! My first encounter was with a believer who lived in Scotland. I can remember, i cried.

I really believe when God ‘looks down’ upon this earth, he sees small bright lights, sprinkled all over this earth: not denominations…not church buildings. Just the small brightly glowing lights within each of his own, among the darkness.

Your friend Ted Hellmann, is a wise man. While Godly doctrine is essential, without the Holy Spirit working along side it through the gifts of the Spirit, its just words.

Many believers today are afraid of the Holy Spirit. I use to wonder at this…

But now, i ‘think’ its because so few have personal ‘God given’ discernment. They are frightened because they’ve never exercised the ability to know the true from the false.

So, they’re answer is to ignore it all: All things to do with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

What it is producing is a huge part of the body of Christ, which is today relying on nothing more then their own intellect and personal doctrines.
