MY TESTIMONY – Part 2 (Evangelism)

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

When I was born again, I became very aware of the sinfulness of sin, my sin, and the holiness of God.  I knew no one goes to heaven without repentance.  Before the Holy Spirit came to dwell within me, I thought I was a pretty good person and headed for heaven. What a delusion! God is a holy God, and when I was saved He began a work of sanctification in my life. Among other things, the Lord began to change my heart in areas dealing with love, forgiveness, honesty, and charity. I know He will continue His work of sanctification in me until I leave this earth. If anything stands out in my mind from those early days, it is that God is holy. We are told in Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

When I was born again, I knew that Jesus was the only way to heaven because the Bible declares that… Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12″.

When I was born again,I became aware of the spiritual realm, that it was very real. I also knew that the devil was real. A fear came over me until I became more aware of Christ’s authority… “But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! Matthew 8:27″.

When I was born again, I knew I needed to witness to Roman Catholics. I was surrounded by Roman Catholics. My family, co-workers, neighbors, and friends were, for the most part, Roman Catholic. My husband (also newly saved) and I began to witness to everyone, and to give out Bibles. We witnessed at work, in the neighborhood, and on the street corners. The Holy Ghost, and God’s awesome Word led us to witness to the lost. We came into contact with many Pastors and church people during our almost thirty years of knowing the Lord. Can you imagine our shock when we realized that most of the professing Church either accepted Roman Catholics as Christians, or had no desire at all for Catholic evangelism. The Holy Ghost tells us to witness, the professing church tells us don’t witness.

When I was born again, I also knew that there was a place called hell. Jesus taught about hell. (Matthew 7:14; Mark 9:43-48, Luke 16:19-31) This was something I never gave any thought to before.

When I was born again I knew that “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30

  2. Please feel free to link to my testimony.

    NOTE…

I am writing this on February 9, 2018.
Seems there has been a little mix-up.
Link to my testimony says I am deceased.
    Not so.
    I am alive and well.
And I am still running the race 🙂.
    Praise the Lord!

    • Hi Cathy, it’s good to hear that you are alive and well! I read your testimony and it was a blessing to see how God used the Bible and His Spirit to work in your life, in sanctification, and bring you closer to Him. Also how He gave you & your husband a heart to reach other Catholics with the Truth. I hope to read more on your blog also. Take Care 😊

      • HI Tom, When my husband and I were first saved our very first thoughts went to evangelism. As you say it was the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. By God’s grace we continue to run the race. Thank you for stopping by.

    • Thanks for stopping by …

We as former Catholics need to testify. There are a multitude of false teachers around who are preaching falsehood and robbing Catholics of an evangelical witness. These false teachers have blood on their hands.

      Blessings,

  3. Great testimony. I was also a Roman Catholic and can understand your story! I did think that the Charasmatic part of the Catholic church was somehow Christian though so thank you for clearing that up for me. I am saddened also that Christians a lot of the time think Catholics are ok but they don’t realise that they are in a works based gospel also and need to hear about Jesus too.

    Thanks for sharing this.

    • The older I get the more appreciative I am for my salvation. It so saddens me that so many Catholics are not being presented with gospel truth.

The Charismatic Catholic thing is a great delusion. Glad I could help bring clarity to that issue.

May the Lord bring deliverance to the many Roman Catholics who are still embracing a works based gospel that cannot and will not save their souls. And may the Lord open the eyes of the “protestants” to understand this and witness to the Catholics.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, and praise God for our salvation!
