Are you good enough to enter heaven when you die?

Most people would answer that question in the affirmative. Before I was born again, I would have said yes also, but does that line up with what Scripture has to say on the subject? In witnessing to people, I have found that a great stumbling block to believing the gospel can be a person’s distorted perception of their own goodness.  Our fleshly perceptions are not the standard by which we can determine what is true. We can only find truth in God’s word, the bible.  The bible is proven to be true by the many fulfilled prophecies contained within it’s pages, and by the testimony of those whose lives have been transformed by believing the words written therein.

The bibles tells us that …

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The bible also tells us that if we have a repentant, willing, and open heart, the Lord will show us truth.

John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

If our heart is hard and unbelieving, there remains nothing but a judicial blindness now and, at death, an eternity in hell.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

It’s not our good deeds that will enable us to enter heaven when we die. It is only by believing in Christ’s substitutionary atoning blood sacrifice on Calvary’s cross, that will gain anyone entrance into heaven. The penalty for our sin was “paid in full” at Calvary’s cross.

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.

Jesus Christ died on the Cross as a substitute for sinners. Jesus was innocent. Mankind is guilty.

Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Open your heart to the Lord today. Repent, believe, and receive the Holy Ghost.  Receive forgiveness, mercy, comfort, and the indescribable joy of knowing the Lord.  And you can also have the comfort of knowing that when you die, you will go to be with the Lord forever.

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

(Note:  Christian Zionism has been propagated far and wide in the Christian community because of the many biblically inaccurate notes contained in the Scofield Study Bible.)

“This evening I read something which was interesting, if true. I qualify that with an ‘if’ after spending the last couple hours searching on-line to check the facts, and finding nothing which would disprove it. If anyone has documented information to disprove this, please share it. What did I read?

‘Scofield’s reference bible broke the time-honored tradition that all the Bible societies had conformed to of printing Bibles without the opinions of men included.'”

MY TESTIMONY – Part 2 (Evangelism)

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

When I was born again, I became very aware of the sinfulness of sin, my sin, and the holiness of God.  I knew no one goes to heaven without repentance.  Before the Holy Spirit came to dwell within me, I thought I was a pretty good person and headed for heaven. What a delusion! God is a holy God, and when I was saved He began a work of sanctification in my life. Among other things, the Lord began to change my heart in areas dealing with love, forgiveness, honesty, and charity. I know He will continue His work of sanctification in me until I leave this earth. If anything stands out in my mind from those early days, it is that God is holy. We are told in Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

When I was born again, I knew that Jesus was the only way to heaven because the Bible declares that… Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12″.

When I was born again,I became aware of the spiritual realm, that it was very real. I also knew that the devil was real. A fear came over me until I became more aware of Christ’s authority… “But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! Matthew 8:27″.

When I was born again, I knew I needed to witness to Roman Catholics. I was surrounded by Roman Catholics. My family, co-workers, neighbors, and friends were, for the most part, Roman Catholic. My husband (also newly saved) and I began to witness to everyone, and to give out Bibles. We witnessed at work, in the neighborhood, and on the street corners. The Holy Ghost, and God’s awesome Word led us to witness to the lost. We came into contact with many Pastors and church people during our almost thirty years of knowing the Lord. Can you imagine our shock when we realized that most of the professing Church either accepted Roman Catholics as Christians, or had no desire at all for Catholic evangelism. The Holy Ghost tells us to witness, the professing church tells us don’t witness.

When I was born again, I also knew that there was a place called hell. Jesus taught about hell. (Matthew 7:14; Mark 9:43-48, Luke 16:19-31) This was something I never gave any thought to before.

When I was born again I knew that “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30

Many, probably most, evangelical protestant churches have adopted the “Just War Theory.” But what is the source of this teaching? Is it Jesus Christ, or is it man made? You’ll find the answer in the following short paragraph …

“Thomas Aquinas later developed the concept of Just War by adopting Augustine’s writings. Thomas Aquinas, (1225 – 1274) was an Italian Catholic priest in the Dominican Order, a philosopher and theologian in the scholastic tradition …” Wikipedia

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

Mark 12:17And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.

Killing the unborn is sin, but so is the killing and maiming of other innocents such as infants, children, civilians, and others who are the victims of war.

Born Again Christians have become involved with politics and war.

This is a great conflict of interest regarding the teachings of Jesus.

We are told to vote for “the man” who is pro-life.

How do we, as Christians, define pro-life?

How would Jesus define it?

An apostate “church” has “conditioned” many Christians into focusing solely on abortion, while completely ignoring other atrocities.  As a result the “world” mocks, and reproach is brought upon the name of Jesus, and on the Gospel.

Abortion and pro-life issues are on the mind of many Christians, yet the maiming and death of a multitude of others is never spoken of.  It’s a taboo subject.

Wicked practices by wicked people are one thing, but it is quite another to do wickedness in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ, and then proclaim to the world that He approves of that wickedness.

It is a terrible thing to do evil under the guise of Christianity.

It is better to err on the side of mercy. We are going to stand before the Lord one day, and we will stand before Him alone. After all our crying out against abortion, will we still be found with the blood of innocents on our hands?

Comment taken from a post by PJ Miller  – “It is imperative that Christians today take discernment based on God’s Word very seriously as not doing so will certainly cause one to feed on leavened bread and adulterated word which in turn will cause you to set your spiritual affection after things of this world – idols of this day and age. (*we see this today Cathy…Christians who’s theology has led them into making an idol out of flesh and blood people, and plots of ground in the Middle East). PJ Miller”
