THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH

Romans 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Romans 6:2  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Romans 6:4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Romans 6:6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Romans 6:7  For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 6:8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Romans 6:9  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Romans 6:10  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Romans 6:11  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:12  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Romans 6:13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Romans 6:15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Romans 6:16  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Romans 6:17  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Romans 6:18  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Romans 6:19  I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Romans 6:20  For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Romans 6:21  What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

Romans 6:22  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

WE ARE LIVING IN A DAY OF GREAT APOSTASY

Many times I have spoken to individual believers about the need to evangelize Roman Catholics.  I’ve shared my testimony and told that Rome preaches “another gospel.”  For the most part, what I have said has not been received.  The gravity of the situation just doesn’t seem to hit home with today’s believer, and at times I have even been viewed as divisive rather than evangelistic.

Why?

I believe we’ve arrived at this point of “hardness of heart” because of the ecumenical teachings of people like Rick Warren, Billy Graham, and the many others who have gone down the ecumenical road.

HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST?

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of Truth, The Comforter.  The Holy Spirit indwells all true believers.  How do I know these things?  Because I received the Holy Ghost in 1988 and I bear witness that the Scriptures are true, and I testify that Jesus is Lord and the only Saviour!  Repent and believe the Gospel and you too will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  To receive the Holy Ghost is to be born again, born of God’s Spirit.  To have the Holy Ghost is to be saved and have assurance of heaven when we die.  When I was repenting in 1988 I did not understand everything, but I did believe and I did receive the Holy Ghost.  I was born again.  I was saved.

Have you received the gift of the Holy Ghost?

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost …

BETRAYAL IN A GARDEN

John 18:1
When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
John 18:2
And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
John 18:3
Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
John 18:4
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
John 18:5
They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

SWEET HOPE – A Poem

The way you were, no longer are,
Time is spent, each moment, hour,
And though I know that this must be,
It pains my heart these things to see.

Another life, another time,
Or so it seems, within my mind,
Yet in reality the same,
Just at life’s end, old, sick and lame.

Who could alter this dismal view,
My Jesus surely this can do,
For in the Lord there is new life,
Sweet hope amid a world of strife.

When dying days have come around,
I pray “in Christ” you will be found,
Believing death is not the end,
For those who call the Savior friend.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
