When I hear of a death I wonder whether the person was ready for eternity. I cannot imagine the terror of passing through death’s door unsaved. I just cannot imagine it. The Lord offers salvation freely to all, yet so many make light of the offer. So many are on the “brink of hell” and don’t even realize it. I pray this post will cause someone to ponder their eternal destiny and turn to Christ for eternal life.
Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Chilling and terrifying, yes, and they don’t even know it. Appropriate words. I too have many in my family who have rejected the gospel. It is painful for me to consider these things. Our peace comes from the Lord. Thank you for taking the time to comment Anna, and God bless you also.

It’s the first thought that crosses my mind, too, “Was this person truly saved? Did they truly know God as Lord and Savior?” So many of those who think that they have been saved have never truly been converted. Jesus Himself made that clear when He told us that many on that day will say to Him, “Lord, Lord, but in Your name we did…this and that.” He will then say, “Depart from Me, I never knew you.” Chilling. I know what it is like to have those that you love reject God. It’s terrifying and they don’t even comprehend it. One second too late…is TOO LATE forever. Thank you and God bless.
