A Christian Declaration on Peace, War, and Military Service (1953)

I do not belong to the Mennonite denomination, and I know modern day Mennonites have strayed from some of their biblical roots, but I do believe they had a correct and biblical view on issues concerning government and war.  They would not participate in armed conflict and violence, yet they were in all ways respectful to those in governmental authority and prayed for them.  What a leap from the hostility we see coming from professed believers in our current day.  I believe we can learn much from the peaceful Mennonite declaration found at the link below.  If you can take a few moments to read it, I believe it will be time well spent.
