  3. Cathy, i prayed as soon as i read your request, and will continue to pray.

    God, many times works in ways we cannot imagine, in how prayers for salvation are answered. A lot of people including my mom and myself, talked to my dad for years about his soul and need for Christ. It wasn’t that he refused to listen, it just appeared to never get through to him.

    Before he left this world a man showed up at my mom’s door one day, [dad was bed-ridden and could no longer talk by then] saying he was a Chaplin from the Veterans administration, asking if he could see dad.

    To make a long story short, he prayed with dad, leading him to repentance and to Christ. Mom, who stood in the background while this occurred said later she could sense the presence of the Spirit of God in that room, as she watched my dad, who could not speak, with tears of joy flowing down his face afterward.

    I don’t know why i felt to share that with you, except to say don’t give up praying. It may not even be you or Bill who leads your dad to Jesus, it could be someone else….or it could be no human, but the Holy Spirit working alone. We just don’t know.

    What we do know is God answers prayer and it is His will that all men be saved;

    “…This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” – 1 Tim 2: 3, 4

    Love you sister…
