CHRISTMAS – A Poem

I pray it will touch the hearts of those who love the Lord …

CHRISTMAS – A Poem

Thanksgiving’s here, another year,

The race is on, we’re in high gear.

Black Friday, the official date,

The shopping mall, our starting gate.

* * *

So many trees, and twinkling lights,

Ah, gifts galore, oh what a sight!

The houses glow, adorned anew,

In colors green, red, white, and blue.

* * *

The stores are packed, with brand new fare,

And soon you’ll see a Santa there.

The music very mystical,

It makes one feel so whimsical.

* * *

Now clean, and cook, and decorate,

So much to do, we stay up late.

Send out the cards, and wrap the gifts,

No wonder that we need a lift.

* * *

The day has come, dinner’s ready,

Family gathered, people many.

But do they know of Gospel grace,

Dare you preach it, now, in this place?

* * *

If they’re lost, what could be merry,

Sudden death would be so scarey.

Affections set on things above,

I say these things because I love.

* * *

His death remember, that He said,

Not day of birth, we’re so misled.

What have these earthly things to do,

With Jesus Christ who died for you?

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2 Corinthians 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

2 Corinthians 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

REMEMBERING MY MOTHER ON WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HER 93rd BIRTHDAY

These are all the articles I’ve posted about my mother.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the “Man Under Authority” and with Him all things are possible.  The Lord, in His sovereignty, still heals, and He still saves in the eleventh hour.  And while there’s life, no relationship is beyond mending because our God is the God of the impossible!

Life is short, and we know not what a day may bring forth.

Love … bless … pray … forgive … and rest in the Lord, our precious Lord, for He careth for you, and He shall bring it to pass.

GLORIOUS RESURRECTION LIFE Contains a poem my mother learned in Italy as a child.  She recited it to me for the first time when she was in her 80′s.

REMEMBERING MY MOTHER

Genesis 18:14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Luke 18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Proverbs 27:1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Isaiah 25:1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

EVANGELISM, EVANGELISM, EVANGELISM …

Recently I received news about someone from my old church who has colon cancer.  Then I heard about the death of an old high school friend.  He was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer.  Twelve weeks after the diagnosis he was dead.  A well known gospel singer recently lost his wife to colon cancer.  She was in her mid 40’s.  I know of another woman who is the same age who may not have long to live.  We have heard about the death of three people from our old neighborhood.  Two of those people were very young. And lastly, my friend shared a story of her reconciliation (after many years estranged) with a Christian friend.  She had intentions of visiting her friend, but was saddened to learn that death had claimed the life of her friend shortly after the reconciliation.

We die, and eternity is waiting.

Where will we go?

Are we ready to die?

If we are born again then we are ready, and only then.

Believer, may the following material stir your heart to share a clear gospel message with the lost regardless of the cost.  May the Lord give you and I the grace and boldness to do so.
