A PILGRIM’S HEART

When for fellowship we yearn,

And seems nowhere we can turn,

In this barren and dry land,

We then grasp the Master’s hand.

*

When our path is trouble fraught,

And the world sets us at naught,

We remember Canaan land,

Upon which one day we’ll stand.

*

When we feel like strangers here,

And we want to shed a tear,

We look to our home above,

Where our Father reigns with love.

*

When our eyes from this world turn,

And for Jesus our hearts burn,

We will wait upon the Lord,

For His Word has brought a sword.

Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
