HE SHALL GIVE HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER THEE

Psalm 91

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

NEVER ALONE

I love this poem!

NEVER ALONE

I’m never alone in the morning,
As I rise at the break of day,
Jesus who watched through the darkness,
Says, “Lo, I’m am with you alway.”

I’m never alone at my table,
Though loved ones no longer I see,
For dearer than all who have vanished,
Is Jesus who breaks bread with me.

I’m never alone through the daylight,
Though nothing but trials I see,
Though the furnace be seven times heated,
The “form of the fourth” walks with me.

I’m never alone at the twilight,
When darkness around me doth creep,
And specters press hard round my pillow,
He watches and cares when I sleep.

I’m walking and talking with Jesus,
Each day as I travel along,
I’m never alone Hallelujah!
The joy of the Lord is my song.

THE TRUTH ABOUT “I will bless them that bless thee …”

False doctrine abounds today and Christian Zionism and Dispensational theology is at the top of the false doctrine list.  Beliefs determine behavior and when a false doctrine is accepted as truth it will have deadly consequences.  It is a great unkindness to lead a Jewish unbeliever to think that the blessing of God is upon him in his unbelieving condition when in reality it is the wrath of God which is upon him or any other person who does not believe the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

MHCC:

The promise of the blessing was made to Abraham and his seed; of the dominion, to David and his seed. It was promised to Abraham that Christ should descend from him,

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Genesis 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

and to David that he should descend from him,

2 Samuel 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. Psalms

89:3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,

Psalms 132:11 The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

and, therefore, unless Jesus is a son of David, and a son of Abraham, he is not the Messiah. Now this is here proved from well-known records. When the Son of God was pleased to take our nature, he came near to us, in our fallen, wretched condition; but he was perfectly free from sin: and while we read the names in his genealogy, we should not forget how low the Lord of glory stooped to save the human race.
