John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Does it not demean the Name of Jesus, to associate His Name and His resurrection with such things as Easter bunnies, Easter eggs, Easter baskets, etc.?  It surely does.

And why are Protestants embracing Roman Catholic holidays like Easter and Christmas?

This is mixing the Holy with the profane.

If we have come out of the Roman Catholic church, let us come out completely, not half heartedly, hanging on to remnants of the false religious system that the Lord has delivered us from. We are not to listen to our Pastors, but to the Holy Spirit… “who will guide you into all truth.” (John 16:13)

An excerpt from my testimony…

“As I sought truth, I learned a biblical principle in 2 Kings 17:33-34. That principle is that the true God cannot be worshiped in our own way nor in an idolatrous way. If that’s what we are doing we are not worshiping the true God at all. It is mixture and is nothing more than a mongrel religion.

2 Kings 17:33-34 They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence. Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;

Matthew Henry Commentary:

Assemblies that worship God in spirit and in truth are the Israel of God; assemblies that either worship false gods, or the true God in a false manner, are the synagogues of Satan: though they may profess to be the only people of God, their profession is a lie.

Divided worship

The religion of compromise or worldliness

This was the beginning of the Samaritan people, whom we find through the rest of Scripture even down to the Acts of the Apostles, retaining some trace of their heathen origin.

Unto this day they do after the former manners,… the new colonies in Samaria doing after the former customs in their own land,

This syncretism, this mixed religion,

they do after the former manners – that is, they maintain the mixed religion,

Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

    I innocently observed all these traditions of men growing up but saw the light when the Lord called me to salvation. “For ye are dead and your life is hid in Christ in God.”

    “even so the weak little company of true believers is in contact hourly with the great modern Christendom and her children, who are “in bondage” to systems of religious rites and ceremonies, especially the observance of days (“Easter,” “Christmas,” etc.), and seasons (“Lent, “Advent,” etc.), to which the more religiously-minded attach great importance. There is, therefore, that ever present danger of slipping into these forbidden ways; and hence we should give heed to the exhortation that bids us “Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Galatians 5:1).
