A CROWD OF ONE

I was watching a church service on YouTube last night and the preacher said that his young wife had been told that the pain she was experiencing had no medical remedy, and this would be her “new normal” in life. The doctor said that he would give her pain medication, but that was all he could do. The preacher called everyone he knew and asked them to begin praying for his wife, and then he had the elders of the church anoint her with oil. The pain didn’t go away immediately, but in a few weeks the pain suddenly left and never came back. What a great testimony! I’ve heard this preacher give similar testimonies of answered prayer. Trouble comes and he calls everyone he knows, the prayer warriors. Wonderful testimonies of answered payer followed.

In the past I have had the blessing of being part of a large prayer ministry. But what about the times when there’s no crowd of believers around to storm heaven when the storm arises in our lives? Sometimes I think, oh, if I could just get the prayer warriors going! But while it’s wonderful to have the many praying, sometimes all we have is the few, or even a crowd of one, and you know what, that’s enough to see the power of our Almighty God move on our behalf. Hallelujah!

1 Samuel 14:6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.

Pray saints…
