THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS IS THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST

A provoking title no doubt. Even so, as someone who did celebrate Christmas in the past, here are some thoughts I’ve been pondering today…

Have you ever felt that Christmas Eve “feeling” that’s not “felt” on any other night of the year? It’s hard to describe but you can definitely “feel” it. There’s a strong sensation that there is something extremely good and special about the night. Of course that’s not true, and it’s almost as if “another spirit” is manifesting, and it certainly is not the Holy Spirit.

Christmas is celebrated by people who adhere to other religions. It’s the great worldwide unifying factor. In wartime time fighting will cease for the day, only to resume the bloodshed on the following day. Mostly everything everywhere closes down on Christmas. And last night the Pope, who claims to be the Holy Father, tells the whole world that “Christmas reminds us we are all united as brothers and sisters”.

The spirit of Christmas seems to be a great unifying factor. It’s religious, it’s worldly, and it’s loved by all. It’s subtle, or maybe not so subtle, and it’s taken over the Evangelical/Protestant churches.

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Revelation 13:3 … and all the world wondered after the beast.

Bible Commentary:

The spirit of the wild beast is adored wherever worldliness prevails.

CHRISTMAS, SYNCRETISM, ECUMENISM & CHRISTIAN LIBERTY

I remember a booklet made available by former Roman Catholic priest Richard Bennett. On the cover was the sketch of a Pope with a huge Protestant crowd in the distance in front of him. It showed the Pope deeply inhaling and under the sketch were the words “THE GIANT SUCKING SOUND”. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!

The ecumenical movement is alive and well in today’s born again Protestant/Evangelical church.

Ecumenical: promoting or tending toward worldwide Christian unity or cooperation (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

Unity with Roman Catholicism, in any way, is never an option for the born again believer because Rome preaches a false gospel. It may be hard to believe, but there is one area of the ecumenical movement that is often totally ignored by the most committed believers. I don’t want to minimize individual responsibility, but I do believe a multitude of compromising Pastors have brought this about, and it would be an understatement to say that many believers have gone with the flow, including myself for a season.

That area is the celebration of Christmas 🎄 and Easter 🐣. I find it interesting that as I typed in the words Christmas and Easter the two emojs above appeared which easily brings me to the topic of syncretism.

Syncretism: the combination of different forms of belief or practice (Merriam Webster Dictionary)

Christmas and Easter are Roman Catholic “holidays”. It’s as simple as that. They are pagan holidays that have been “Christianized” and they mock and bring reproach on the great I AM, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. To partake of a “holiday” that connects the great I AM with paganism is an abomination in the sight of the Lord.

Yes, we have Christian liberty, but Christian liberty never gives us license to partake of the anti-biblical practices of ecumenism or syncretism.

2 Corinthians 6

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
