Cathy, thanks for posting this excellent video on the faux “vicar of Christ”! So many people are deceived by the pope, including billions of non-Catholics (like Rome-friendly evangelicals) who view the pope as a great religious leader and someone to revere. It’s quite interesting that some of the most conservative, doctrinaire Catholics disavow the pragmatically-progressive pope Francis.
Thanks again Tom, for watching the video. Reverence for the pope is so very widespread, and as you say includes “Rome friendly evangelicals”. You can imagine our shock when we came we realize this after we were saved, and who knows what the future holds.
I remember it like a sledgehammer to the head how shortly after I was saved in 1983 learning about Billy Graham’s accommodation and compromise with Rome. Others at our church definitely did not want to hear any negative criticism of Graham. They adopted a “neutral” position on Catholicism rather than be on the opposite side of the beloved Graham.
We’ve had similar experiences with believers regarding Graham. Their “neutral position” and everything that goes with it is totally inappropriate and makes no biblical sense at all. And what about all the lost who have been led astray by him. Does anyone even care anymore.
From all I’ve seen and experienced over the last 40 years I would guesstimate that 90% of today’s “evangelicals” believe anyone who criticizes Graham’s ecumenism is a fundamentalist wacko.
SMH… words fail me!
