Mark 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Barnes Bible Commentary:

I say unto all, Watch –

We know not the time of our death.

We know not how soon we shall be called to the judgment. The Son of man may come at any moment, and we should therefore be ready.

IF we are his friends; …

IF we have been renewed and pardoned; …

IF we have repented of our sins, and have believed on him. and are leading a holy life, we “ARE” ready.

IF NOT, we are unprepared, and soon – probably while we are not expecting it – the cold hand of death will be laid on us, and we shall be hurried to the place where is weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth.

Oh how important it is to be ready, and to escape the awful sufferings of an eternal hell!

Hebrews 2:

1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

2 Corinthians 13:5

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

A poem my mother recited to me when she was in her 80’s, after she was born again and shortly before she died. She remembered learning it as a little child. It was the first poem I ever heard her recite.

JESUS, revealed in the Scriptures.

JESUS, the promised Messiah.

JESUS, the Seed of Abraham.

JESUS, the Son of David.

JESUS, the Passover Lamb.

JESUS, the true Vine.

JESUS, King of the Jews.

JESUS, the ONLY mediator between God and man.

JESUS, the Light of the world.

JESUS, the Resurrection and the Life.

JESUS, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Romans 5:6-9 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Here are some beautiful worship songs in Italian.  I wish I had found these years ago.  Perhaps some of you have unsaved family members who were born in Italy.  These worship songs in their native language may minister to them.

1 Corinthians 9:19-22 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
