“Let us never forget that the English Bible was made with blood!”

Reblogged from Elizabeth Burke’s Blog…

Thank you William Tyndale!

The last sentence of the post…

“Let us never forget that the English Bible was made with blood!”

But today, in our very own churches, by our very own leaders, there is a widespread acceptance of and unity with the Roman Catholic Church. And the sadest part is that nary a word is said by those who know better.

PREACH THE WORD

As I have said many times before, I was a Roman Catholic for close to 40 years.  I know Roman Catholic teachings well.  I was on the inside so to speak.  Recently, a prayer that I prayed for many years came to mind.  I can still recite it from memory, word for word.  It is known as the “Hail Holy Queen” or “Salve Regina”.

I am a born again Christian.  I was saved in 1988.  The prayer that I used to pray before I was born again I no longer pray.  It is pure blasphemy.  I cannot even bear to print it here, but you can see the prayer at the links I have provided here and below.  You can also read about Pope Francis reciting the Salve Regina.

It is 2015, and one of the major issues of the hour is Roman Catholicism.  (I say one of the major issues because there are others, one of which is dispensationalism, but that’s another post.) Many many mainstream preachers and pastors are boarding Rome’s boat and their bringing their congregations on board with them. Many many church leaders today say we have minor differences with Rome.  I believe one of the reasons they have been able to convince a great number of Christians to believe this lie is because we have made idols out of our leaders.  The word of pastors has taken precedence over the Word of God.

precedence:  the condition of being considered

more important than someone or something else;

That is apostasy.

And it is not just “Mary”.

The Roman Catholic church preaches “another gospel”.

Roman Catholics need to be evangelized, not called brethren.

I love the Roman Catholic people.

That is why I am writing this.

Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina)

Pope Francis recites the Salve Regina.

2 Timothy 4:1-5 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

BEFORE AND AFTER

The words are the same as those uttered in a biblically based Christian church, but they have a totally different meaning when those same words are taught in the Roman Catholic Church.  I can say that because I was a Roman Catholic for 38 years of my life, and I can tell you about the error I was taught and believed before I was saved.  After I was saved, I proclaimed the truth of God’s Word, and I have been doing so for more than 26 years.

1.  Born Again

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that a person is born again when they are water baptized.  This is the Roman Catholic teaching whether it is an infant that is baptized, or an adult who is baptized.  (Just for the record, it’s not a Biblical type of baptizing.  It’s a sprinkling of water on the forehead.)

I was baptized as an infant and for many years I really

thought I was born again, when in reality I was hell bound!

I was truly born again at the age of  38

when I repented and believed the true Gospel.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

2.  Receive the Holy Ghost

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that a person receives the Holy Ghost when they receive what the Roman Catholic Church calls the “sacrament of Confirmation.”

I was “confirmed” when I was around 12 years old.  For many

years I really thought I had received the Holy Ghost when I

“made my Confirmation.”  I was a lost soul who had believed a lie.

I truly received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 38

when I repented of my sins and believed the true Gospel.

Galatians 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Galatians 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

3.  Mediator

A true Christian denomination would teach that Jesus Christ was the only mediator, but the Roman Catholic is taught to pray to “Mary”, the earthly mother of Jesus Christ, and to ask for “Mary’s” intercession in their petitions to God.

For many years I prayed to “Mary”.

I expected “Mary” to answer my prayers.

When I was truly saved, and truly born again, I

knew that Jesus Christ was the one and only mediator.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

I say all this because a very bad soul damning situation is getting worse.  Popular “preachers” are teaching that Roman Catholicism is a Christian denomination and that we are to embrace Catholics as brethren rather than evangelize them.  They tell us there are differences, but they are minor differences.  That is a lie.

I have only touched on three of Rome’s false teachings here.  The bottom line is that Rome teaches “another gospel” and “another Jesus”.

How can any true Christian think that is a minor difference!

Is preaching “another gospel” a minor difference?

The days are dark brothers and sisters.

The word “doctrine” means “teaching.”  The doctrine or teaching of the Bible tells us of our need of salvation, and it doesn’t leave us wondering how we can be saved.  The doctrines of Jesus Christ are simply the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the teachings are certainly for every living person on the planet.

This is so basic regarding true Christianity, so “Christianity 101”, that we should be completely and totally amazed when preachers say that doctrine is unimportant or say in a negative way that doctrine divides!

Of course doctrine divides!

It divides the truth of God from the lies of Satan.

It divides the true prophet from the false prophet.

And it divides the believer from the unbeliever.

Love that denounces truth is not true love.  It is a counterfeit love, devised by Satan, to lead many a soul into hell.

2 Timothy 4:3-5 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.  But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

WHERESOEVER MY GOSPEL COMES WITH POWER

When the Gospel comes with power things happen …

Matthew 10:33-34 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Wesley:

Whosoever shall deny me before men – To which ye will be strongly tempted. For Think not that I am come – That is, think not that universal peace will be the immediate consequence of my coming. Just the contrary.

Both public and private divisions will follow, wheresoever my Gospel comes with power. Yea – this is not the design, though it be the event of his coming, through the opposition of devils and men. Luke 12:51.

Luke 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

PASSING THE BATON

Here I Stand

“Unless I am convicted by scripture and plain reason–I do not accept the authority of popes and councils for they have contradicted each other–my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise, God help me. Amen.
Martin Luther, April 18, 1521”

Pass The Baton

Definition: To give responsibility for something important to another person.
Usage notes: If someone running in a race passes the baton, they give a stick to the next person to run.

Memorial Museums

It is important to remember, and pass on information to the next generation, so that the evils of the past are not repeated. We find an example of this “remembering” in the museums that have been established such as the Holocaust Memorial Museum and the International Civil Rights Center & Museum. That’s a very good thing.

Remember The Reformation

We as Christians have not remembered. We have not taken the stick, and we are not running.

We have forgotten the Reformation. Roman Catholicism preaches another gospel. Martin Luther knew that, but the modern day church leaders have forgotten, and they have influenced a multitude of other Christians. Today, so called Protestant ministers send people to the Catholic church for discipleship at their crusades and, believe it or not, other so called Protestant ministers actually sell rosaries. We are even asked to fast and pray so that Rome chooses the right man to be the new Pope!

Few are protesting anymore and the really sad part is that they are having an unbelievable influence on the Body of Christ. That is a great blow to the evangelizing of Roman Catholics.

On April 18, 1521 Martin Luther said …

“Unless I am convicted by scripture and plain reason–I do not accept the authority of popes and councils for they have contradicted each other–my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise, God help me. Amen.”

Will you say the same today?
