I have felt led to write again on this contentious subject and would hope that this would be a final summing up of personal thoughts on the matter, …The Lord Can Use Every Situation to Bring About His Will
Holistic health teachings found within the organized church can lead into new age occult thinking and practices. Multitudes are being led astray by popular leaders that they trust.
From around the web …
“soon millions of gullible people will like their health ideas and read their other material and be led into the occult.”
“a lot of them will be influenced by a worldview that is incompatible with Christianity, namely New Age Spirituality”
More on the dangers of Holistic medicine … here
I witnessed to my mom for many many years before she came to the Lord. It was an amazing thing for me to see her witness to my father. One day she just blurted it out and told my father he needed the Holy Spirit if he wanted to be in heaven with her and me and my husband. I nearly fell off my chair when I heard her say that. She was so excited that day. A baby Christian in her old age, but nevertheless a Christian.
You can read about her road to the Lord at the link … MY MOM
Just keep on praying and witnessing … only the Lord can do the saving 🙂
An urgent plea to evangelize before it’s too late. (I found this testimony on the internet.)
“My dad died of a massive heart attack yesterday. I have talked to him a few times about Jesus and prayed for him since I was a young child. A few months ago I showed him some videos about near death experiences involving heaven and hell. I gently said dad you need to be saved – you know ask Jesus into your heart, please … I don’t want you to go there. I don’t know if he listened or not but my heart is so broken and I feel deeply sad that I havn’t been more consistant with praying and trying to bring him to Jesus. I am paying a huge price for thinking my dad would be around a lot longer than 54 years. I only hope to tell others never to delay, if given the opportunity to tell anyone about Jesus, because we never know if it be our last.—Jenny on 7/23/10”
Acts 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
Matthew Henry Commentary:
Many are startled by the word of God, who are not changed by it.
Many fear the consequences of sin, yet continue in the love and practice of sin.
In the affairs of our souls, delays are dangerous.
Felix put off this matter to a more convenient season, but we do not find that the more convenient season ever came.
Behold now is the accepted time; hear the voice of the Lord today.
He was in haste to turn from hearing the truth. Was any business more urgent than for him to reform his conduct, or more important than the salvation of his soul! Sinners often start up like a man roused from his sleep by a loud noise, but soon sink again into their usual drowsiness.
Be not deceived by occasional appearances of religion in ourselves or in others. Above all, let us not trifle with the word of God. Do we expect that as we advance in life our hearts will grow softer, or that the influence of the world will decline? Are we not at this moment in danger of being lost for ever? Now is the day of salvation; tomorrow may be too late.
I heard a young Evangelist give an awesome testimony last night about when his grandma was saved. It made me cry and it made me want to dance around the room :-). I’ll tell it as best as I can recall.
As a young boy the Evangelist prayed for his grandma’s salvation every Sunday in Sunday School and continued to pray throughout his adult years. She remained uninterested in the things of God and she never went to church. Then one day, when she was in her 70’s, she called him on the phone and asked him to come over. He thought she just wanted to visit and was going to cook him some breakfast like she always did, but he said there was no aroma of anything cooking as he walked into the house.
His grandma looked at him and said …
I am old and I am dying and I have rejected God my whole life. I don’t want to go to hell, I want to get right with God. Do you think there is hope for me?
The Evangelist opened his Bible and explained God’s Word and the way of salvation to his grandma. She said to her grandson …
Can I do this now, can I get saved now?
And so, in a little house somewhere in the mountains, his weeping grandma became a child of God, another soul came into God’s Kingdom, and the angels in heaven rejoiced.
That night the Evangelist was scheduled to preach in a church. His grandma wanted to go with him and asked him to pick her up. When she was in church that night she walked up to the front of the church and gave testimony of God’s saving grace. She testified of her newfound faith and said …
If God can save me he can save anybody.
Two or three months later she went home to be with the Lord.
It makes me think of my mother who was saved in her 80’s after many long years of praying for her and witnessing to her. I knew she was saved when I heard my her unexpectedly witness to my father and tell him …
You need the Holy Ghost too if you want to go to heaven with us.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
Amazing grace how very sweet the sound!
Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
