I became acquainted with this poem quite a while ago when the author left a comment on my blog. It so touched my heart that I asked her at that time if I could post the poem on my site. She graciously said yes. The poem was written by Elizabeth Burke, a born again Christian, and it surely comes from the depths of an evangelistic heart burdened for the lost. The poem came to mind again recently as I thought about the brevity of life and the many in my family who are not saved. The love of God and the love of souls compels us to evangelize.

A poignant and evangelistic poem …

One cloudy restless Sabbath Day,

I went in search of where he lay.

So pensively I picked my way,

Past ancient headstones and decay.

Celtic crosses in the mist,

Coloured gravestones, raindrop-kissed,

Crying curlew overhead,

Wooden crosses, unknown dead.

The old, the young, the rich, the poor,

A child, a babe…. a grief to endure;

A nobleman, a pauper, a puritan, a thief:

Death knows no boundary, and nor doth grief.

Who were these within their day,

Whose bodies now lie clothed in clay?

Were they told, or did they see

That Jesus died all souls to free?

And then I thought on the living-dead,

For whom His precious blood was shed,

And how I wished that they could be

Joyful, saved, from sin set free.

Oh, how I longed to talk with him,

Before the flickering light grew dim,

But hope had drowned in the Great Forever,

Where land and riches matter never.

So, brother, sister we must go –

Tell loved-one, neighbour, friend and foe,

For how can we so silent be…

If we love the Author of Eternity?

How to Create a Conscientious Objector’s (CO) File

Link… “The ability to document one’s convictions is important. Documenting these beliefs before you actually file a claim for Conscientious Objector status is particularly helpful.”

Most “born again” churches today have strayed from Biblically based “Conscientious Objector” beliefs long held and taught by the Christian churches of the past. For that reason it has become necessary for born again Christians to document their beliefs long before a draft is initiated.

The link below from the Mennonite Church is a good resource to give you an “idea” of how to document your Conscientious Objector beliefs.

Excerpt … “A CO file is a collection of faith statements, references, and other evidence that you are a conscientious objector to participation in the military. The purpose of the file is to give evidence to a draft board that your beliefs are long-held and sincere, not a ploy to avoid being sent into a specific war. Young women should also make a file, since it is likely that women would be included in a draft.”

SIGNS OF THE TIMES – Take Heed That No Man Deceive You-Pastors

According to the survey found at the links below, 90% of pastors today believe Roman Catholics can be born again Christians.

The term “born again Catholic” is an oxymoron.

oxymoron:  a combination of words that have opposite or very different meanings

I was a Roman Catholic for almost 40 years, but when I was truly born again I renounced Roman Catholicism. I repented of partaking of the sinful practices I was taught as a Roman Catholic. Rome preaches/teaches “another gospel.”

So …

How easy would it be to find a solid church to attend in our day?

Not easy at all.

This has been our experience with … Pastors

SIGNS OF THE TIMES – Take Heed That No Man Deceive You – 8

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Below are more excerpts from a powerful testimony of conversion, … “From Rome to Christ by Alberto Rivera”. It is a powerful antidote to the dangerous apostasy of our day. I myself was a Roman Catholic for almost 40 years. By God’s grace I came out, my husband came out, and many years later so did my mother. We all prayed to Mary. Mary is the one we prayed to. Imagine? Be blessed as you continue to read …

“No Catholic can even believe this promise (John 3:16) while they keep practicing Roman Catholicism.

It’s impossible. Listen to this. No Mary. Here (in John 3:16) there is no Mary. He gave his only begotten Son, but Catholic teaching says Mary also partakes of the sacrifice of Christ. This is why she become a co-redeemer.

I was looking myself for that identity as a priest. I was so infuriated, I was so full of demons and evil spirits that try to destroy my very soul as a Catholic, that many times when the conviction of the Holy Spirit would come upon me with such a, with such a power, I would take the Bible and I would throw the Bible under my feet, and I would destroy with my foot the pages of the Scripture. I hate to know the truth. The devils in me hate it.

Immediately, when I stop here … (John 3:16) … and it says … he gave his only begotten Son, … only his Son, … only his Son, … only his Son, … and the Holy Spirit cry aloud, … only his begotten Son, … only his begotten Son, … only his begotten Son, … no Mary, … no Mary, … no Mary, … no Mary, … only his begotten Son, … then I take the bible to the floor and I destroy it.

That happens to that beloved person in your family, that you love so much. It could be your father, your mother, your grandfather, your grandmother. That beloved person is in this dangerous path right now.” Alberto Rivera

Matthew 24:3-4 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

When they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees …

Prophesied in Old Testament:

(Psalm 118:25-26) Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

(Zechariah 9:9) Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Prophecy Fulfilled in New Testament:

(John 12:12-16) On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, HOSANNA: BLESSED IS THE KING OF ISRAEL THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD. And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF SION: BEHOLD, THY KING COMETH, SITTING ON AN ASS’S COLT. These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

The yearly observance of “Palm Sunday” is a “man made” tradition.  In the Roman Catholic Church, the palms are burned and used for ashes on “Ash Wednesday” which is another man made tradition. People believe the palms and ashes are blessed and keep the palms as a sort of good luck charm. (Been there 😱.)  I guess you could say they made an unbiblical ritual out of something that is in the bible.
