THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS IS THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST

A provoking title no doubt. Even so, as someone who did celebrate Christmas in the past, here are some thoughts I’ve been pondering today…

Have you ever felt that Christmas Eve “feeling” that’s not “felt” on any other night of the year? It’s hard to describe but you can definitely “feel” it. There’s a strong sensation that there is something extremely good and special about the night. Of course that’s not true, and it’s almost as if “another spirit” is manifesting, and it certainly is not the Holy Spirit.

Christmas is celebrated by people who adhere to other religions. It’s the great worldwide unifying factor. In wartime time fighting will cease for the day, only to resume the bloodshed on the following day. Mostly everything everywhere closes down on Christmas. And last night the Pope, who claims to be the Holy Father, tells the whole world that “Christmas reminds us we are all united as brothers and sisters”.

The spirit of Christmas seems to be a great unifying factor. It’s religious, it’s worldly, and it’s loved by all. It’s subtle, or maybe not so subtle, and it’s taken over the Evangelical/Protestant churches.

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Revelation 13:3 … and all the world wondered after the beast.

Bible Commentary:

The spirit of the wild beast is adored wherever worldliness prevails.

AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH, AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF LOT

Luke 17:26-30 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

PERILOUS TIMES

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

“corruptions within”

“wicked men even in the very bosom of the church”

“persecutions from without”

JFB:

last days – from Christ’s ascension to the end of the world.

Matthew Henry:

perilous times – on account of persecution from without, still more on account of corruptions within.

Geneva:

perilous times – there will be rather great abundance of most wicked men even in the very bosom of the church, who will nonetheless make a show and countenance of great holiness, and charity.

Pulpit:

perilous times – they are times when a Christian hardly knows which way to turn or what to do. He has to live under a constant sense of hindrance and difficulty of one sort or another.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Barnes:

persecution – they who are persecuted for their opinions, should consider that this may be one evidence that they have the spirit of Christ, and are his true friends. They should remember that, in this respect, they are treated as the Master was, and are in the goodly company of the prophets, apostles, and martyrs; for they were all persecuted.

We see the corruptions of Rome, and even worse we see the corruptions within the Protestant church.

But there has always been a remnant…

Romans 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

And there has always be a cost…

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

FALSE PROPHECY, FALSE TEACHING

False prophecy, false teaching.

Have you embraced any of the teachings below (the list is partial)? Then you have embraced some portion of the false teachings of Dispensationalism, and my heart is grieved, for I at one time embraced them also, and I know that the Lord loves you and wants you to know the truth.

The Secret Rapture

The “Left Behind” books and movies

The building of a third earthly temple in Jerusalem

The millennial one thousand year reign of Christ on earth in Jerusalem

The Jewish people are the apple of God’s eye

God will bless those who bless the Jewish people

Earthly Israel is the holy land

Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel

God has two separate plans, one for the church and one for Israel.

The promises made to Israel are only for Israel, and are not fulfilled in Christ and the church.

The fable or myth of dispensational teaching was started in the 1800’s by a man named John Nelson Darby.

It was further promoted by another man named Cyrus I. Scofield and his Scofield Study Bible.

Many of the saints have embraced this man made false teaching named Dispensationalism (without realizing it’s name or source) because that is what most Pastors are teaching in their churches.

Many of the saints do not realize that the prophecy teachings they are being taught are part of a whole false theology called Dispensationalism.

Dispensational teaching is widespread in today’s church.

It is taught almost everywhere.

False teaching is dangerous.

Will we as Christians send our children to war, or go ourselves, whether it be in the U.S. military or in the Israeli military, and kill people because of false teachings regarding biblical prophecy?

Will we as Christians be complicit in hindering a peace process in the Middle East because of false teachings regarding biblical prophecy?

Will we as Christians have blood on our hands because of false teachings regarding biblical prophecy?

The Lord is not a respecter of persons.  The Lord will open His Word to anyone who desires to know truth.
